October Morning
We spent a week at Cannon Beach and I was trying to capture photographs of the waves at the point where the wave had the most energy. While waiting and watching the waves for several days on the foggy beach, I realized there was another frequency at play—abstraction. And maybe not pure abstraction but with the fog there was a certain lack of subject that inspired me to consider, is there a practice of photography where there is no subject other than rhythm, pattern or frequency? A kind of abstract realism? I really don’t know much about the history and modes of photography so it’s a sincere if naive question. I’m interested to continue this practice. And yes, birds flew through a couple of these photos.
