It’s March and so the slow slog through winter wanders slowly outward seeking resonance among the dark and dampness toward the vernal eternal light of the sun and along the way these things:

  • The point is to make so you can share. And you make and share and make and share…” - Shantell Martin brings life to black and white drawings in a style that is completely her own. This short video made with Casey Neistat is inspiring me through a challenging week of a lot of professional creative projects.
  • “The mystery brews in the soil…” is one of the last lines of James Tate’s poem, “The Raven Speaks.” This is one of my favorite of Tate’s poems which are neo-surrealist and/or fabulist poems where he elevates the ordinary into something full of wonder. And here’s me reading “The Raven Speaks.”
  • It helps me pay attention to my life.” - Austin Kleon on why he keeps a diary.
